Election Success for Lib Dems

7.06.54pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 4th May 2007

Liberal Democrat candidates across Prudhoe and Tynedale wish to thank the voters for returning the group on the District Council in a stronger shape. In Prudhoe Neil and Donna Bradbury were returned to the District Council with healthy majorities. Gerry Caldwell and Neil Bradbury were also elected to Prudhoe Town Council. Other Liberal Democrat candidates also performed strongly in Prudhoe.

Across Tynedale, the Liberal Democrats made gains, unseating the conservative leader of the council, whilst Labour fell back, confirming the Lib Dems as the main opposition to the Tories on Tynedale District Council. "We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have supported" us commented Cllr Neil Bradbury
