Lib Dems contest every seat In Prudhoe in District Council Elections12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 17th Apr 2007 In Prudhoe the Liberal Democrats have stood candidates in all the seats, marking themselves out as the clear challengers to Labour in the town and to the Tories across the District. The following candidates are standing: Gerry Caldwell is standing in Prudhoe Castle Ward. Gerry is well known in Castle ward as a hard working councillor who cares about the area and the people who live there. His successful record shows a willingness to take up matters on behalf of residents. He has lived in Prudhoe for over 25 years and has been a Town councillor and District councillor for 16 and 7 years respectively. Gerry is currently Vice Chair of Governors at Prudhoe Castle First School and has managed the project to build the IT suite there. Experienced campaigner Yvonne Davies is also standing for election in Prudhoe Castle. A former chair of governors at Highfields Middle school and a qualified Nurse, Yvonne has lived in Prudhoe for a long time and has been a committed member of the local community. Paul Harrison is standing in Prudhoe South Ward for the Lib Dems. Paul is married to Alice and has grown up children. As a GMB trade union official, Paul has been involved in politics most of his life and currently works in Hexham. Paul was formerly a councillor on South Tyneside council where he gained a wealth of experience in many aspects of local government. Paul was the co-founder and chair for a drop-in facility which has helped over 6000 people back into employment. He is an ardent campaigner for economic development and the need to generate investment and jobs. Darren Levitt is standing for election in Prudhoe North Ward. Darren is a trained precision engineer and a Prudhoe Town Councillor. A youth work volunteer, he lives in the ward and is interested in local history and road safety. Donna Bradbury is standing for election in Prudhoe West Ward. Donna is an information manager working in the NHS, with a scientific background in Microbiology. She has been a Tynedale District Councillor for the past four years and is interested in environmental issues, particularly practical measure that the council can take to reduce its environmental impact. Neil Bradbury is also standing for election in Prudhoe West. Neil works as an investment fund manager for a government loan fund. He has been a Town and District councillor for the past four years and is a trustee of Leisure Tynedale as well as a director of the Tynedale Community Rail partnership.
