Local Council Tax poll results in

3.16.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 1st Aug 2005

An online poll by Prudhoe Liberal Democrats has come out against Council Tax. 75% of respondents felt it was an unfair tax, with only 17% feeling it was fair. "This poll backs our campaign to replace council tax with a fairer tax that does not hit lower and middle income families so hard" commented Cllr Neil Bradbury.

With the forthcoming revaluation of council tax likely to push up many peoples bills, now is the time for the Labour government to act and replace Council tax with a fairer alternative.
