Local Councillor demands Castlefields Action

5.16.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 31st Jul 2005

Local Councillor Darren Levitt has called for a programme of action to sort out problems on the new Castlefields estate. Darren brought a comprehensive report to last weeks town council calling for a number of changes, including a parish noticeboard on the estate, completion of long overdue footpaths, lighting along Broomhouse lane and improvements to local parks and waste bins.

"The people who should have been sorting this out have been dragging their feet" said Cllr Levitt. "The Town Council needs to champion the residents concerns and make them feel a valued part of Prudhoe."

Darren's report was unanimously praised and adopted by the Town Council, who have promised to co-ordinate the programme of works, to ensure they happen. "I hope that in a year, all these things can be in place and the estate can be finished properly" said Darren.
