Local Liberal Democrats have selected their candidates for the two County Council seats in Prudhoe. Local District and Town Councillor Neil Bradbury has been selected to contest the marginal seat of Prudhoe West and local Town Councillor Darren Levitt is standing against the chair of the County Council in Prudhoe East.

Both candidates live in their wards and are looking to build on recent successes by Lib Dems in Prudhoe against Labour. "Both Darren and I have been elected relatively recently and see that if we are really to change Prudhoe for the better, this town needs new ideas and fresh minds at County Hall. I hope that the voters will give us that chance." said councillor Neil Bradbury.

The Conservatives have already been written off in Prudhoe by pundits as they have not had a councillor elected in Prudhoe in living memory.
