Prudhoe Lib Dems Boycott Christmas 'Knees up' at Langley Castle

7.23.00pm GMT Mon 27th Dec 2004

Tynedale Lib Dems took a stand against a Tynedale Councillors Christmas party, held at Langley Castle in December. This party, estimated to cost at least £1500, was arranged by the council for all councillors, their partners and senior officers and their partners.

Cllr Neil Bradbury commented "Cuts have been made to what we believe are essential council services, like the collection of clinical waste. In the light of these cuts, while we don't object to councillors having a party, we feel they should pay for it out of their own expenses"
