Neil visits Brussels

Written by Cllr Neil Bradbury on Wed 4th Jun 2008

I have been on a visit to Brussels for four days to see the work of Fiona Hall and other Lib Dem MEPs in the European Parliament. I have never been to Brussels before and was impressed with the scale of work being undertaken by the parliament in working to provide scrutiny of European decisions and in providing common standards for consumers. I was also very impressed with the work being undertaken to combat climate change.

Fun by the Sea

Written by Neil Bradbury on Tue 27th Sep 2005

It's conference season again and the parties are having their week by the sea. As someone who goes to the Lib Dem conference it's interesting to watch the other conferences. This years Lib Dem conference was the most professional yet, with high levels of security and more consciousness of the media than ever. But it didn't stop conference voting against certain parts of the party hierarchies' motions on policy and it didn't stop a delegate being allowed to question Charles Kennedy's leadership skills in a question and answer session with Charles in the main conference hall. When delegates at Lib Dem conferences vote for motions it becomes policy. Simple as that.

Thank You

Written by Neil Bradbury on Fri 20th May 2005

A big thank you to all the people of Prudhoe West who supported the Liberal Democrats in the General and County Council Elections. In the County Council elections, Lib Dem candidate Neil Bradbury turned a 777 vote majority for Labour in the County Council elections in 2001 into a mere 16 vote majority this time round. "It was an agonisingly tight race and we got really close" said Neil. "it's always a great honour when people go to the trouble of voting for you and I'd like to thank all the people who voted in the elections for doing so. We were one of the few council areas where turnout went up."

Massive Lib Dem Surge but Labour squeeze in

Written by Neil Bradbury on Sat 7th May 2005

Despite a massive swing to the Lib Dems in Prudhoe West Labour won by an agonisingly close 16 votes yesterday in the County Council elections. "we said it was neck and neck - and we were right!" said candidate Neil Bradbury. "I'm obviously disappointed but wish the elected councillor well over the next four years".
